Urban Wildlife
In their natural habitat--under couches, beds, and other pieces of
furniture--wild species of dust bunnies are quite literally products of their environment.
Although humans are typically antagonistic toward dust bunny communities, deeming them unclean and unwanted, dust bunnies themselves
are not known to incite obvious rebellions, opting instead to utilize their cunning and ingenuity to outsmart humans
and coexist.
The Dust Bunnies and the Electric Broom, forthcoming, is a
chronicle of one dust bunny community's first encounter with this unfamiliar machine. Set in an anonymous city apartment, the tale
introduces a vivid cast of characters who work together to persevere in the face of a life-threatening foe. Christine Mladic combines
quirky and imaginative illustrations with color photographs to create a fantastical underworld that demands to be considered real. Christine
is currently seeking representation.
